NEWS -2007 was a great year for volunteer involvement through the different ministries of NCBM. Below is a summary of the 2007 NC BAPTISTS MISSIONS INVOLVEMENT:

AG MISSIONS
· Over 700 participated in Summerfest 2007 at the Ag Farm in Buies Creek
AVIATION MINISTRY

· 487 NC Volunteer Mission Flights. 277 Active Pilots with 867 People Served and a $478,499 Public Benefit. 

BAPTIST EDUCATORS

· NC led other states with 19 educators joining the Fellowship. 850 participated as pen-pals through Christian Corresponders with 19 NC churches leading their young people to participate. 1943 volumes through Book-Link were shipped to missionaries, national pastors, and schools overseas.

CORRECTIONAL MINISTRY

· 79 boys with a parent in prison attended Camp Angel Tree at Camp Caraway as a result of scholarships & transportation provided by Baptists; 17 of these boys made professions of faith at camp and 28 rededications

DISASTER RELIEF RESPONSE/BAPTIST BUILDERS (stats since Katrina in August 2005)

· Meals Prepared = 1,073,000
· Work Requests Completed = 4,124
· Volunteer Days = 216,618 (over 34,000 different volunteers)
· Showers = 159,451
· Laundry Loads = 7,479
· Children in Child Care = 560
· Disaster Volunteers trainees = 1,465

NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS- Volunteers were in the following locations:

LAY RENEWAL WEEKENDS-

· 49 churches hosted Renewal Weekends with 23
professions of faith and 214 public rededications

LAY REVIVAL WEEKENDS

· 2 Crossover Evangelism Outreach Events, 8 Saturday One-Day Witnessing Blitzs, 11 churches hosted Revival Weekends with 90 team members who participated. There were 76 decisions for Christ

MEDICAL MISSIONS

· Medical Dental Buses: PATIENTS: dental – 3,404; medical - 388 eye - 187 VOLUNTEERS: medical professionals – 1,224; lay workers – 961; translators - 221; pastors - 199; counselors - 167; Buses in use 193 days, traveling 19,247 miles. Professions of Faith – 86; Other decisions - 17

· 6,000+ patients were treated during international medical projects and on the two medical-dental buses

RESORT & LEISURE

·90 participated in the annual April NCBM Golf Tournament

STUDENT & STUDENT MINISTER PROJECTS

· Over 2,500 participants in NC sponsored World Changers projects
· 540 participants in Deep Impact Mission Camps
· 1,100+ youth & adults participated in Church Day Program and game at Wake Forest University

CAMPS

· 1,157 boys attended Camp Caraway this summer with 94 professions of faith, 397 rededications, and 190 commitments to full-time ministry
· $3,815.52 was collected for missions
· 30 participated in a week of Christian High Adventure
· Construction was completed on the RYE Foundation Caraway Staff House

ROYAL AMBASSADORS

· 534 participated in RA Day attending the Bobcats ballgame
· 445 participated in the State RA Race in Salisbury
· 212 participated in the state RA/Challengers Track Meet
· 199 participated in Father/Son Overnight camps
· 226 campers for Lad/Crusader Camporee

REGIONAL RALLIES

· 2,788 participants in spring and fall rallies

MEN'S MINISTRY

· 98 Men’s Ministry leaders training @ two state sessions

NC BAPTIST MISSIONS CONFERENCE

· Over 2,000 participants attended this annual inspirational and informational meeting
